The Raga Jukebox

ராக ஜூக்பாக்ஸ் — ஒவ்வொரு ராகத்தின் ஆரோகண அவரோகணம், உங்கள் சுருதியில்

Choose a sruthi — say D♯ — pick a raga, and hear its arohanam and avarohanam in a real violin voice. Turn on the play-along Sa drone and bow along, listening for the exact swarasthanam of every note. Covers the ragas children meet across geetham, swarajathi and varnam.

How to use it in practice

1 · SruthiSet the Sa your child is tuned to — the example here is D♯, but any sruthi works.
2 · Drone onTurn on the Sa (or Sa + Pa) drone so the violin has a steady reference to play against.
3 · Slow paceKeep the pace slow at first. Watch the highlighted swara and read its swarasthanam name.
4 · Bow alongPress Play (or use Step-by-step) and let your child match each swara on the violin.
For the teacher: every raga lives in one editable RAGA_DATA block at the top of the script — the arohanam and avarohanam are written with exact swarasthanam codes (R2, G3, M2, N3…). A few ragas are vakra (zig-zag) or bhashanga (borrowed notes); these show a simplified textbook scale and are flagged. Please confirm each scale against Ganamrutha Bodhini before relying on it, and edit freely.
